Flat Iron Square

Located on the junction of Southwark Bridge Road and Union Street, Flat Iron Square is the latest addition to Bankside, bringing together an exciting hub of new restaurants, bars, food trucks and music venue.

The development is a key part of The Low Line in Bankside, an ambitious long term project to open up the pedestrian walk way that runs along the base of the rail viaduct between Borough Market and Southwark tube station. Comprised of seven repurposed railway arches and surrounding open spaces, Flat Iron Square offers a relaxed urban setting to fully enjoy the mix of artisan food and drink offerings.

Open daily, from 10am until late, the new units include:

Burnt Lemon Bakery
Founded by Chef and Baker Matthew, Burnt Lemon will focus on sourdough breads made exclusively from organic flours milled in the UK. The ever changing menu will feature pressed sandwiches, cakes, tarts and pies which will be freshly made each morning.

EDū
A contemporary Spanish food concept, bringing a fresh approach to traditional Spanish cooking. EDū’s ‘mixto’ concept is also influenced by international cuisines, signature dishes will include, the ‘cheeky dog’, Spanish pork belly baos and the EDū burger.

Manti
Bringing their popular handmade Turkish dumplings to Bankside, Manti’s recipes are filled with seasonal British ingredients. Expect roast beetroot and Brockley made Persian feta, Lake District lamb, cinnamon, pumpkin and freshly minced south coast fish, fresh mint and salted lemon.

Cantina Carnitas
An award-winning Mexican street food serving up fresh burritos, tacos, nachos, quesadillas and tortas from a newly converted giant American food truck.

Savage Salads
Expect so much more than a basic leaf and vegetable concoction. Savage Salads’ aim to bring wholesome, fresh and innovative salads that taste delicious and keep you fuller longer.

Ekachai
Bringing the flavours of South East Asia, Ekachai offers classic Thai, Malay and Cantonese street food dishes straight from the wok. They also offer a range of handmade dim sum and little plates.

Laffa
A modern take on the street food from the Eastern Mediterranean, inspired by the food stalls and cooking of the region. Their changing menu will include Lamb Kofta, Sabich, Harissa & Mint Steak Bavette and Grilled Aubergine & Halloumi.

Baz & Fred
Look no further if you are searching for the perfect pizza. Sourcing the finest ingredient, these stone baked pizzas are a taste sensation.

Tatami Ramen
A ramen force to be reckoned with! Enjoy a menu of Tonkotsu Fukuoka style ramen, Miso Tonkotsu ramen, Spicy Kimchi and Sesame Vegan ramen.

Where The Pancakes Are
The award-winning pioneers of buttermilk pancakes promise delicious guilt-free recipes. With a selection of savoury and sweet options, each dish is a feast of colour and flavour, paired to perfection with a selection of craft cider.

Bar Douro
Inspired by the traditional cerveijarias and tascas of Lisbon and Porto, the rustic restaurant will offer a contemporary take on Portuguese cuisine.

Flat Iron Square also brings a new live music venue, OMEARA which promises a wide array of programming, from indie club nights, to talks, comedy, burlesque, magic and much more.
